23 Sep 2021 Remarks from SPV given for the observations by KIIFB in Suspension notice issued. Waiting for orders of Suspension revocation, as discussed with KIIFB officials. Meanwhile the portions left uncovered were backfilled and compacted. GSB were filled and compacted in areas where muddy soil and sludge due to rain generated. Contractor arranged team for soil conductivity test and thermoweld connections for Cathodic protection system in MS pipes. Soil conductivity being tested at various locations in the pipe laying route for analysing the possibilites of requirement of Cathodic protection system at different locations.   Thiruvananthapuram Project AE3

14 Sep 2021 1) 1219mm MS pipe - 150m laid, 220 m pipe supplied departmentally. Tar coating done for 220m. 2)1118mm MS pipe - 1115m pipe laid, 1944m pipe supplied (includes 504m dept. supply). Welding of socket joints/butt joints done and tested (pressure and dye test). 3) 914mm MS pipe - 565.6m pipe laid, 2014.72m pipe supplied. 4)813mm and 711mm MS pipes - No material supplied and laid. 5)600mm DI pipe - 1234m pipe laid, 2161.5m pipe supplied. Issues 1) Due to persistent rain, loose soil and water logging at 600mm DI pipe laying locations, it is not possible to lay the pipe and hydrostatic pressure test is not possible. 2) Hard rock is present at locations of 914mm, 1118mm and some portions of 1219mm MS pipe laying locations, due to which delay is occurring in removing the rock and excavation. 3) Existing pipes and cables underneath are more in 1219mm and 1118mm MS pipe laying locations, and accidental breaking of pipes and cables and their restoring is causing delay in pipe laying. 4) PWD road cutting permission agreement not given by EE, PWD. On enquiry the letter and agreement given was not found in the office and need to be freshly submitted. 5) Corporation road cutting permission agreement also not obtained. On enquiry with zonal office, it was informed that council meeting demanded the charges for road restoration of all stretches, which was pending in the zonal office, and will be submitted this week.
