| Description |
Now the construction of production components of the new water supply
scheme which is envisaged for distribution of water in Arakuzha and Palakuzha, dividing
the area into 8 different zones is in progress and is nearing completion under the
funding of NABARD. This scheme is having the following components.
1. Intake well : 10 m dia intake well at Moozhi ( Existing)
2. Clear water Pumping Main – 350 mm DI k9 pipe
3. Treatment Plant – 5.5 MLD RSF WTP at Konnanikadu
4. Service Reservoirs
i) 2 LL OHSR at Kumbalathumala for Zone I
ii) 3.5 LL GLSR at Konnanikadu for Zone II
iii) 0.6 LL GLSR at Aroor for Zone III
iv) 1.7 LL GLSR at Achakottimala for Zone IV
v) 1.5 LL GLSR at Illikunnu for Zone V
vi) 1.5 LL GLSR at Elachikunnu for Zone VI
vii) 2.0 LL GLSR at Palanikkumthadam for Zone VII
5. Clear Water Pumping/ Gravity Main
i) 150 mm DI K9 – 4600 m to Zone I
ii) 250 mm DI K9 – 800 m to Zone II
iii) 100 mm DI K9 – 1600 m to Zone III
iv) 150 mm DI K9 – 2850 m to Zone IV
v) 100 mm DI K9 – 2350 m to Zone V
vi) 150 mm DI K9 – 2260 m to Zone VI
vii) 150 mm DI – 2650 m to Zone VII
The distribution system of the scheme is envisaged in Phase II and the
same has to be materialized for the full utilization of the scheme. The works for the
partial commissioning of the scheme is also arranged under State plan |
