Description The potable water supply in the Mannar and Chennithala panchayaths are served from the scheme named ‘CWSS to Mannar-Kurittisseri and Chennithala- Thruperumthura’ (Common for the scheme CWSS to Bhanikkavu and adjoing villages). It has a water treatment plant of Capacity 15 MLD situated in Prayikkara having source as Achenkovil river. The raw water from intake well Prayikkara having RWPM 500 mm CI pipe for 400m. The treated water from WTP is carrying through CWPM of 300 mm DI pipe for 4692m to OHSR 10 LL OHSR located near Thripperumthura Village Office. Potable water is conveyed from this OHSR and distributed in Mannar and Chennithala Panchayath. At present 1196 water service connections are there in various wards of Mannar panchayath and 786 water service connections in Chennithala Panchayath The present 15 MLD water treatment plant of the scheme ‘CWSS to MannarKurittisseri and Chennithala- Thruperumthura’ located at Prayikkara is capable of producing sufficient potable water to cater the needs of all the households in this panchayat. But the existing distribution network is too small to cover all the households of this panchayat. Under JJM proposal had submitted for both the panchayths for providing retrofittable/extendable FHTC and Augmentable FHTC Separately
